Client matter – Significant milestone in fight against corruption and money laundering

The Swiss Federal Criminal Court has ruled in favour of LALIVE’s client the Federal Republic of Brazil (Attorney General’s Office – AGU), for the repatriation of over USD 16 million frozen assets linked to former Brazilian politician Paulo Salim Maluf.

The judgment was handed down in the context of international cooperation between the Swiss Confederation and the Brazilian Federal Prosecution Service (PGR), following Paulo Salim Maluf’s earlier conviction for money laundering and final judgment by the Brazil’s Federal Supreme Court. It is a significant milestone in international cooperation against corruption and money laundering.
