Nous recherchons :

  • Formation juridique en droit suisse et brevet d’avocat suisse requis ;
  • 2 à 3 années d’expérience post-brevet dans le domaine de la clientèle privée (droit des successions, droit de l’art, protection de l’adulte, droit de la famille) ;
  • Excellentes références académiques (diplômes en droit suisse) ; priorité aux personnes titulaires d’un doctorat, d’une spécialisation post-universitaire ou aux auteurs ou autrices de publications concernant la clientèle privée ;
  • Langue maternelle française et excellente maîtrise de l’anglais ; bonne connaissance de l’allemand ; connaissance d’autres langues appréciée ;

We are looking for a dedicated, bright, and motivated Legal Assistant who has specialist experience in the filing of legal submissions, particularly with arbitral tribunals and/or Swiss courts. This role would suit an experienced a Legal Assistant, Paralegal, Jurist, Clerk or equivalent The successful candidate will be based in our Geneva office, working in French and English as part of a cross-office and cross-departmental   team. If you have an excellent attention to detail, a proactive approach, and a real desire to be part of a dynamic international disputes-focussed practice then we look forward to hearing from you. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the filing of submissions with arbitral tribunals and Swiss courts, including document formatting, cite checking, preparation of electronic and hard-copy documents, and translation work.
  • Supporting hearing preparations, especially in arbitral tribunals.
  • Assisting lawyers with document management, deadline management, procedural requirements and case preparation.
  • Handling administrative and organisational tasks and providing general administrative support to lawyers, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, filing expense reports, and handling incoming and outgoing correspondence.
  • Drafting and proofreading of correspondence and legal documents in French and English.
  • Managing the administration of client files, including physical and electronic filing and archiving.
What we are looking for:
  • Proven experience in the filing of legal submissions, especially in Swiss courts and/or international arbitral tribunals.
  • Excellent accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
  • Rigorous organisational skills, and a strong ability to prioritise. 
  • Responsive, pro-active, with a strong ownership of tasks and responsibilities; able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience in providing administrative support and managing multiple tasks.
 
Ideally you will have 3+ years’ experience gained a similar role, as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or equivalent. You will be fluent in English and French, and having business-level German would be a real advantage. You must be a confident and competent IT user, especially with Microsoft Office. Ideally you will also have experience in using Exhibit Manager.

  • Use and promote specialist IT tools, especially for file management and legal submissions. 
  • Assist lawyers in preparing for trials and hearings, including regarding trial documents and all logistical arrangements. 
  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Organise and maintain case files and document management systems.
  • Support the team in managing deadlines and ensuring compliance with court and procedural requirements.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support the litigation/disputes teams.

What we are looking for:
  • Previous experience (ideally at least three years’) as a paralegal, legal assistant, jurist or clerk in a litigation or disputes environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (business-level German would be a real advantage).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail; impeccable organisational skills mand a strong ability to prioitise.
  • Responsive, pro-active, with a strong ownership of tasks and responsibilities; able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Competent and confident IT-user, with demonstrated proficiency in using document management systems and exhibit management software (ideally ExhibitManager).
