Domitille Baizeau appointed on the Executive Committee of the Swedish Arbitration Association

In May 2011, Domitille Baizeau was appointed as member of the Executive Committee of the Swedish Arbitration Association (SAA) along with five other European arbitration practitioners, replacing outgoing members. The appointment took place on 31 May 2011 in Stockholm during the SAA’s annual general meeting, when Ms Baizeau addressed the members of the SAA on the new provisions governing Swiss domestic arbitration as contained in Part 3 of the New Swiss Code of Civil Procedure which came into force in January 2011. The association’s chair Robin Oldenstam, of Mannheimer Swartling in Stockholm, described the new members as  ‘highly experienced, internationally recognized arbitration practitioners bringing a wealth of knowledge to the table.’ He added that the SAA would benefit from their ‘extensive network, both in their respective home jurisdictions and globally’. The SAA was established up in 2004 to encourage interest in arbitration in Sweden and promote it as an international arbitration venue. It has around 250 members from Sweden and abroad and every other year holds the Arbitration Days conference.
