Environment & climate
LALIVE recognises the urgency of the climate crisis and the vital need to protect our natural world. We are committed to tracking, reducing and mitigating our impact on the environment. We strive for solutions to decrease our emissions, improve our resource efficiency and be environmentally sustainable.
This is reflected in our corporate membership and partnership with Zurich-based organisation myclimate to reduce the impact of the firm’s carbon emissions and invest in sustainability and climate protection projects. Through myclimate, we support:
- A local Swiss project promoting climate-optimised forest management in the canton of Solothurn.
- A Ugandan project to distribute water purification systems to low-income households and institutions like schools.
United Nations Global Compact (UNGC)
As a member of the UN’s corporate sustainability initiative, LALIVE promotes the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and adheres to the UNGC’s Ten Principles, including those related to the environment:
- Principle 7: support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges
- Principle 8: undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility
- Principle 9: encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies
Campaign for Greener Arbitrations (Green Pledge)
LALIVE is a member of the Green Pledge, which advocates environmentally sustainable arbitration practices, including through adopting Guiding Principles for reducing the environmental impact of arbitrations.
