LALIVE announces new Partner and Counsel promotions

The Partners are delighted to announce the promotion of international arbitration Counsel Augustin Barrier to Partner as of 1 January 2025.

Augustin joined LALIVE’s Geneva office in 2016. He specialises in international commercial arbitration and investment treaty arbitration, with a particular emphasis on joint ventures, supply and distribution, and foreign investments disputes in the energy and mining sectors, notably in Europe and Africa.

Augustin holds a Master in Litigation, Arbitration & ADR from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University and a Master in Economic Law from Sciences Po University in Paris. He was admitted to practise in Paris in 2011.

The Partners are equally delighted to announce the promotion to Counsel of Senior Associates Adrien Canivet in APG and Louise Aellen, Andrea Florin, Roxane Pedrazzini and Gabriela Svalduz in LPG, also as of 1 January 2025.

Adrien Canivet joined LALIVE’s London office in 2021. He specialises in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration and has experience in a wide range of disputes in the construction, energy, mining, automotive, defence and financial services sectors. He also advises clients on public international law matters.

Adrien holds a Master of Laws from Paris-Panthéon-Assas University and a Magister Juris from the University of Oxford. He was admitted to practise in England & Wales in 2016 and in Paris in 2012.

Louise Aellen joined LALIVE’s Geneva office in 2019. She specialises in complex domestic and cross-border litigation, with a focus in banking litigation, white-collar crime and mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.

Louise holds an LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science, a Master of Laws and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Legal Professions from the University of Geneva. She was admitted to practise in Switzerland (Geneva) in 2015.

Andrea Florin joined LALIVE’s Zurich office in 2019. She specialises in civil and employment law, with a particular expertise in advising and representing private clients in complex domestic and international family and inheritance law disputes.

Andrea holds a Master of Laws from the University of Lucerne. She was admitted to practise in Switzerland (Zurich) in 2016.

Roxane Pedrazzini joined LALIVE’s Geneva office in 2018 and is currently spending a year on secondment in the London office. She specialises in domestic and cross-border litigation, representing clients in both civil and criminal proceedings. She has particular expertise in complex financial, banking and commercial disputes, fraud litigation and asset recovery, as well as employment law.

Roxane holds a Master of Laws from the University of Fribourg and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Legal Professions from the University of Geneva. She was admitted to practise in Switzerland (Geneva) in 2018.

Gabriela Svalduz joined LALIVE’s Zurich office in 2022. She previously served as a prosecutor, with a focus on economic crime and cybercrime. She specialises in complex domestic and cross-border litigation, in particular white-collar crime, asset recovery, international mutual legal assistance, internal investigations, and compliance, in particular regarding anti-corruption, anti-money laundering, blockchain technologies and ESG matters.

Gabriela holds a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Finance and Accounting, a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Business Criminal Law and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Forensic Science from Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, as well as a Licentiate of Law from the University of Zurich. She was admitted to practise in Switzerland (Zurich) in 2000.

These promotions confirm LALIVE’s position as one of the leading disputes firms, with 39 lawyers in litigation and 51 in international arbitration.

The Partners welcome Augustin to the Partnership and wish Adrien, Louise, Andrea, Roxane and Gabriela every success in their new roles as Counsel.
